Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program

Since 2009, Home Base has worked to heal invisible wounds for Veterans, Service Members and
their Families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education and research. Invisible
wounds include post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, depression, co-occurring
substance use disorder, military sexual abuse and other issues associated with service. As a
National Center of Excellence and the first and largest private-sector clinic in the nation
dedicated to healing these unseen injuries, it is our duty to change the landscape of care for the
21st century warrior and military family. All Home Base treatment, wellness programs and
research opportunities are provided to Veterans, Service Members and their Families at no cost
to them. Education offerings are provided to healthcare professionals, first responders and
community members free of charge. Discharge status is not a determination factor for
participation. Home Base offers an Intensive Clinical Program (ICP) for SOF and SOF Veterans
who are dealing with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and other invisible wounds.
In the ICP, SOF receive close to a year’s worth of treatment in two weeks, allowing SOF to be
put on a path of success that will complement the ongoing care in their home. In addition, The
Comprehensive Brain Health and Trauma (ComBHaT) Program was launched in 2019 to provide
coordinated, integrated, multi-disciplinary specialist evaluation, treatment, and care
coordination for active-duty SOF Service Members and Veterans.
