Continuing Education

The University of Texas Health at San Antonio and the STRONG STAR Training Initiative are approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education (CE) for psychologists. The STRONG STAR Training Initiative maintains responsibility for the program and its content. The CE Credits sponsored by the American Psychological Association are acceptable for most licensed mental health professions. It is our experience that CE credits have been recognized by most professional state license boards. We recommend providers check with their respective licensing boards regarding the acceptability of the CE credit.

Target Audience: Licensed Psychologists, Graduate Psychology Students and Allied Mental Health Professionals

CE Credit Hours

Day 1: 5.5 CE Credit hours
Day 2: 5.5 CE Credit hours

Attendance Policy: CE Credit and Certificates will not be issued to those who arrive later than 10 minutes or leave early from any course scheduled time. This policy is highly enforced to ensure compliance with APA Guidelines.

Cost: CE Credits are available for purchase at a cost of $20 per day.

Cancellation Policy: CE fees minus a $10 service charge, will be refunded to participants who send a written cancellation via email to admin@strongstartraining.org postmarked no less than 15 days before the event. No refunds will be made thereafter

CE Registration & Payment is ADDITIONAL to Event Registration During registration, you will indicate that you need CE. You will then receive AN ADDITIONAL email with instructions on how to register and pay for your CE credits. ADDITIONAL steps will be required to confirm CE Credit Registration.

Q: How do you track my attendance in the session for CE credit?
In-Person: There will be a designated sign-in/sign-out table at the conference to track your attendance.
Online: Attendance will be collected through online platform. Attendees are responsible for ensuring their name is correct on platform and they attend the presentations in entirety.

Q: How & when will I receive my CE certificate?
The STRONG STAR Training Initiative will provide online evaluation through link or QR code after the conclusion of the event. CE Evaluations and Certificate are administrated through Google Forms. The CE certificate will be emailed to the email address provided on the Google form link. Please note, some institutional servers (e.g., VA, DoD) block Google forms and the emails. Providing a personal email address should avoid this issue.

Notes for Virtual Attendees

Each person must logon to the online platform individually under their own name. If you watch with another person, only the person who is logged on will receive a CE certificate.

Joining a live session counts as signing in, and leaving those pages counts as signing out.

Q: If I have internet connection problems on the day of the event, will my CE’s be impacted?
Yes. You must have a stable internet connection to earn CE credit.

Q: What happens if my internet connection fails?
If you rejoin the session immediately, your CE credit will not be affected. If you do not rejoin immediately, you will lose credit for the time that your internet was down.

Q: Can I watch the session and earn CE credit from behind a firewall or VPN?
Many firewalls and VPNs will prevent you from being tracked, which will prevent you from earning CE credit. We recommend that you watch without the use of firewalls or VPNs. We cannot troubleshoot your firewall or VPN for you.
